MPI PAINT STANDARDS
Behr is proud to offer products that meet the Master Painters Institute's (MPI) rigorous performance requirements. Many of Behr’s products are approved under MPI Green Performance Standards GPS-1-12 and GPS-2-12 as well as the Extreme Green MPIX-Green Standard.
GREENGUARD GOLD
Over 40 BEHR® and KILZ® products have achieved UL Environment’s prestigious GREENGUARD Gold Certification and Formaldehyde Free Claim Validation. The GREENGUARD Gold Certification standard includes requirements for compliance with the State of California’s Department of Public Health Services Standard Practice for Specification Section 01350 (California Section 01350) for testing chemical emissions from building products used in schools and other environments. GREENGUARD Gold Certified products can be used to earn credits in the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) Best Practices Manual for K-12 schools, the US Green Building Council's LEED® Green Building Rating Systems, the Green Guide for Healthcare, the NAHB Green Building Guidelines, Green Globes, Regreen and many other building codes, standards and specifications.
