August is a month of summer heat, relaxation and plenty of time spent in the backyard or inside, enjoying the air conditioning. Behr color Dragonfly PPU12-03 is subtle and soothing, like the light turquoise waters glimmering around an idyllic island imagined in our minds. It also carries a hint of the soft blue August sky we see when relaxing in the back yard while identifying the ever-changing shapes of soft summer clouds.
Dragonfly walls give a living room a completely serene vibe. Furniture in light wood or French vanilla tones enhance the sand, sky and water vibe emitted from the room’s peaceful color scheme. Green apple makes a great accent color, whether in the form of wall art or actual apples in a bowl atop a sideboard. Natural, earthy tones can’t help but make the room peaceful, soothing and comforting.
For a unique color statement, extend a swath of Dragonfly up from a focal wall, such as the area above a fireplace and onto the ceiling. This effect looks stunning in an otherwise white space. Light wood floors and off-white curtains add to the peaceful, somewhat ethereal profile presented by the color combinations in this room. Add furniture in sand or pale gray tones to enhance the serene sensibilities of this living space.
Dragonfly serves as a refreshing shade for kitchen walls, too. Outfit the room with white cabinets, dark wood countertops or even a checkerboard dining table made of reclaimed wood. The overall atmosphere is a refreshing take on a country kitchen, finished with black or oil-rubbed bronze fixtures and cabinet hardware.
An empty space beneath a staircase becomes a focal point when painted in Dragonfly. Use the space as backdrop for a stunning sideboard or a favorite piece of wood furniture, displaying it like art. Outfit the rest of the room with wood or dark leather furniture, adorned in patterned and textured throw pillows in blue and neutral tones.

That racing stripe across the ceiling and down the fireplace wall will be fun to paint over when the shine wears off. Dragonfly is a great color- the kitchen is beautiful.
