May is the month of lengthening warm-weather days and gorgeous sunsets that paint the sky in soft pastels and fiery hot pinks and oranges. Garden blooms adorn the landscape in virtually every color under the sun. Behr color Bubble Shell S160-3 is a mild pink that reminds us summer is waiting around the corner and the reason it is our Color of the Month selection.
Color your home’s exterior world with a little something special: a Bubble Shell exterior door. This soft pink adds a little cheer to a neighborhood of neutral-colored homes. It looks great on a home painted white or a gentle gray, with white door trim. Oil-rubbed bronze or black door hardware stands out against the pink, paired with black wall sconces. Add a tall plant in a black pot to round out the look.
For a baby’s room, create a soft and serene space with a soft pink and some beautiful details. Bubble Shell adds a dreamy and peaceful touch to an otherwise very function nursery dresser. The metallic gold accents of hardware and decorative elements add a touch of warmth and sophistication.
Give a foyer a marvelous Mod look with a Bubble Shell wall. This color looks stunning on a wall that has its own geometric architectural details straight out of the 1950s or 1960s. Add a retro-inspired gray storage table as a place to stash car keys and unread mail. A white gooseneck lamp atop the table is perfectly at home here. Retro chic, indeed!
Bubble Shell even looks great as a backdrop for a home office, even if the office is just a small desk along a lengthy living room wall. A compact white desk with gold legs looks stunning against the pink. Add a matching retro pink chair, then create the office boundaries with a pair of tall potted plants. The plants add a bit of a calming nature to the space as well, which is perfect while working at the desk.
Warm and inviting colors are perfect for a dining area as well, which makes Bubble Shell an excellent choice. For an eclectic yet exciting look, paint the bottom half of the walls pink, the top white. Outfit the dining area with a white tulip table with a bronze base and a set of upholstered chairs that play off the table base’s color. This retro set looks beautiful atop a gray or silvery area rug. Round out the look with a retro white sideboard topped with a few vases and a table lamp. A few hints of a pastel blue in artwork and home accents look absolutely smashing in this space.
Bubble Shell also works great as an accent color. In a bedroom with white or light gray walls, decorate the bed with pillows in an assortment of pink, white and gray, alternating patterns solids and textures for a lush look. Pick up on the pinks with an armchair and a few matching plant pots and decorative accents for a cohesive look.
